NBC News and the Democratic National Committee excluded former Sen. Mike Gravel of Alaska on grounds that he did not meet fundraising and polling thresholds. Well that didn’t stop him from getting his message out live on Ustream.TV
Senator Mike Gravel in front of a full auditorium responded to each of the questions and answers from the Democratic candidates during the debate live at Drexel University. MSNBC wouldn’t cover the event, but Ustream did.
We continue to see the candidates from both sides of the aisle empowering themselves with live Ustream events.
Senator Gravel, if NBC won’t allow you to get your message, Ustream always will!

Nip/Tuck’s Season 5 premieres on October 30th on FX. FX, among other major media companies, are embracing emerging technology to supplement traditional promotion efforts.
“Fans that interact with the stars on the launch or premiere of a series are far more likely to feel compelled to tune-in and watch consistently. After all, I’ve watched all the seasons of a major sitcom because I actually met the lead star…when you feel a sense of connection, it’s easy to decide on what to watch on TV,” says Angelica Valentine, Ustream.TV Manager.

Two great events took place recently on Ustream.TV
First, Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama did his first official broadcast on Ustream. While Obama had appeared before in the context of the various debates that we’ve broadcast, this was the first time that his campaign officially used Ustream. As you can see, our broadcast was embedded in both Obama’s campaign Web site and MySpace page, and drew a nice
Second, Ustream.TV is proud to announce conservative uber-blogger Michelle Malkin has decided to use Ustream to add live video to her online political channel, HotAir.com. A brief test with her and her co-founder chatting and munching on takeout from McDonalds quickly scored several hundred viewers, a figure which will be much higher once she begins to embed and promote on MichelleMalkin.com, which is one of the most read political blogs in the
We continue to believe you will see more and more live streaming during the 2008 election cycle.
One of the powerful aspects of Ustream is watching live streams that are meaningful to you, not just those events with hundreds or thousands of people watching.
So when 15-20 people watched the Dallas Diamonds vs SoCal Scorpions @ Dallas today, I was glad to know these people watched a live event that mattered to them. I even chatted with a lady in the same league from Indiana who had a bye that day.
The Dallas Diamonds, the reigning 3-time Champions of the Women’s Professional Football League (WPFL), have just started the 2007 season on Ustream.TV.
Mainstream media would never be able to afford the costs of showing football games like the Diamonds. But now with Ustream and other similar services you can see those great, local content.
They say all politics are local, well, I think Ustreams are local too.
