Video Transcription: Automated Audio to Text

Video Transcription: Automated Audio to Text

Transcribing audio can be a slow process. For those looking for a solution to scale or speed up video transcription, a solution is automated audio to text. This takes AI (artificial intelligence) and uses it to transcribe speech through combining information about grammar and language structure. Using this technology, content owners can start generating transcripts through simply uploading a file.

Note: some of these topics were covered in our Simplify Your Corporate Video Strategy webinar, with the archived version available for immediate viewing.

Powering US Open 2017 Highlights, IBM Watson Impacts Live Broadcasting

When Juan Martin del Potro faced Dominic Thiem on Day 8 of the US Open, die-hard tennis lovers might have been excited, but it didn’t have the hallmarks of a “must see” event for casual fans. Few expected del Potro, ranked 24th, to advance.

But when he staged one of the best comebacks in US Open history, everyone wanted to see how it was done. And within minutes, they were able to, thanks to IBM Watson powering US Open 2017 highlights.

Watson assembled a clip reel within five minutes of the end of every match at this year’s Open, making highlights and key moments available to fans two to 10 hours more quickly than during previous years. The event marked the official launch of IBM Watson Media, a new business unit that leverages Watson’s leading AI capabilities to meet the future needs of broadcasters and their audiences.

5 Ways to Use Live Streaming Video to Boost Brand Marketing

5 Ways to Use Live Streaming Video to Boost Brand Marketing

For brands and retail marketers, live online video can be a powerful hook to grab—and keep—customers’ attention to boost brand marketing efforts. According to industry experts, a prerecorded online video will hold consumers’ attention for about two minutes, but live streaming video can keep audiences engaged for 20 minutes or even longer. The trick is to make those live streams must-see experiences or viewers won’t tune in, let alone stick around to make a purchase.

So what can marketers do to ensure live video events will draw and delight target audiences and, ultimately, help drive revenue? In a recent webcast, Fritz Brumder, CEO and founder of Brandlive, a live interactive video platform for brands and retailers, and Stacy Nawrocki, director of product marketing for IBM Cloud Video, offered some savvy advice for marketers large and small.

Create Video News Feeds Using Player SDKs

Create Video News Feeds Using Player SDKs

Looking to create video news feeds in a way that caters to mobile viewers?

Many customers have asked how they can recreate a Facebook-like video experience with embedded videos. To address this, IBM Cloud Video has developed a player SDK that includes autoplay and pre-buffering functionalities. Due to the pre-buffering logic, video content starts with virtually no delay and will pause automatically when a user scrolls past it. Ultimately this gives viewers a quick, smooth video playback experience comparable with mainstream social networks, but created under your own brand.

To achieve this, developers can use the SDKs to create an app, for Android or iOS, that will present large libraries of content in an easily scrollable, skimmable format for end users.
