Since 1919 the Sequoia Council has delivered the promise of Scouting to the youth of Tulare, Kings, Fresno and Madera counties. Scouting has helped shape the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people and families, created leaders of our cities and state, and instilled in that membership the values and traditions we as responsible citizens believe in and live by. The need to deliver the promise of Scouting to the youth of the Sequoia Council is greater now than it ever has been. The youth of today are faced with enormous challenges – drugs, gangs, peer pressure, violence in the schools, poverty, abuse, - and they are faced with choices every day that can determine which road they will take. Scouting’s emphasis on ethical decision making, responsible citizenship, and doing your best always will instill in our youth the character they will need to assume the mantle of leadership for the future.
