Rick Scherer, VCDX, vExpert, is a Senior vSpecialist within the VMware Alliances organization at EMC as well as an independent author, speaker and founder of VMwareTips.com. In his current role, Rick evangelizes the benefits of virtualization as well as assists in the solution architecture of cloud computing environments for many of the Fortune 500 companies and service providers in the US. Rick has designed solutions for companies looking to run Tier-1 applications such as SAP and Oracle in the cloud, as well as large virtualized desktop deployments scaling in upwards of 15,000 desktops. Working in the IT industry for close to 15 years, in 2009 Rick was recognized for his hard-work and dedication to virtualization by obtaining the VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification, a feat only shared with ~60 others world-wide.
