A sexy librarian with a killer shoe collection, a pixie pianista with Chopin nocturnes up her sleeve, a singer of lullabies sprung from a sunken pirate ship…Pam Shaffer is an LA native with a taste for the subterranean. As a child, she often listened to an eclectic mix of musicals, classical tunes, folk music and the requisite teen pop of the 80’s. Likely the only kid to wear her great-aunt’s costume jewelry to elementary school, Pam has always been a bit unusual. Her music plays out like a well-written novel and given her love for the diarist Anais Nin, it comes as no surprise that her songs are often decorated with literary references and antiquated phrases. Pam has been compared to Regina Spektor, the Dresden Dolls, Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell and Tori Amos. She can often been seen around LA playing shows with her many musical accomplices.
