Portfolio BUTOH http://d.hatena.ne.jp/p-butoh/ http://butoh.dmc.keio.ac.jp/ Portfolio BUTOH is a project in DMC Institute, KEIO University (Tokyo). Our goal is to preserve a visual record of HIJIKATA Tatsumi Butoh body movements (choreography), and to provide a critical survey of the body movements in Hijika Butoh. Preservation efforts will focus on the making of a digital recording of “Shomen no Isho” (literal translation: “Costume en face”). The movements in this performance will be reproduced with the help of YAMAMOTO Moe. The reproduced digital resource will then be compared and analyzed with the visual record of the original performance. The results of this study should be helpful to field research on the choreography in modern dance and to the methods of producing digital media content for the performing arts.
