My name is John Teeling. I live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my wife, Tracy. We do not have kids. I was born on the peninsula of Howth, which is now part of Dublin city, which is nine miles from Dublin city centre. I came to the United States when I was 18 for adventure but also to escape because I felt stuck. I am a christian but I do not like to denominate myself. I respect all people regardless of religion or lifestyle. I may not agree with you but I can still love ya. You may not agree with me but you can still value me. I am an extrovert and I love to read, think and discuss. I enjoy trying to figure out the complexity of life and discuss ideas about making life better. I am working on my dream: Charlotte Dreams Out Loud (CDOL) which is about making dreams come true for people. CDOL is a nonprofit. I prefer to call nonprofits: community benefit organizations. CDOL benefits the community by 1. Building community in neighborhood liveplaces and neighborhood workplaces. 2. Collaborating with organizations to deliver, waht I call, dream resoureces to neighborhoods. This Ustream video is mainly about engaging individuals and neighborhoods in the conversation of dreams. So, the interaction is vital. I wan to bring catalyzing ideas but the stories and questions are what I really am targeting for the purpose of transformation - taking neighborhoods from their current to a better form, which is defined by the people of that neighborhood.
