On Friday, May 18 at Gramercy Theatre, GIRLS WHO ROCK returns to Internet Week New York, connecting entertainment, technology, and design communities to support She’s the First, a non-profit helping girls in the developing world be the first in their families to graduate. In the past two years, we’ve raised $23,000 to sponsor 32 girls in Tanzania and Uganda, and this year, we aim to raise $50,000 to sponsor girls at the Shanti Bhavan school in India. GIRLS WHO ROCK is produced by an all-volunteer team of rockstar Millennials (under the age of 30!) and for the first time, we’re proudly sponsored by Umojawa, an online community for social change and civic engagement. This means 100% of your contributions are donated directly to girls’ sponsorships. In one night, we can change girls’ lives around the world–and maybe even change our own. Will you join us?
