BIOGRAPHY Alicia M. Phidd, M.P.S., J.D. was fortunate to experience both science and social science careers. She became the third chemist and first female chemist in her family. She worked in that industry for a few years before deciding to attend law school. Upon completing law school, she practiced in several areas of law before concentrating on business law and immigration law. Ms. Phidd started her law practice in Tampa, Florida in 2005 and since then has brought or defended many different business issues and immigration issues in our legal system. Ms. Phidd enjoys meeting and helping people and as a result became known in Tampa Bay as the ultimate networker. She took the time to remember what you do and how she could help you. She never failed to introduce parties of the same industry or those that should know each other. While in her career as an attorney, Ms. Phidd also developed as a professor and has an equally long and impressive career in academia teaching business law, employment law and environmental law. In 2009, Ms. Phidd added an additional job category to her long list and that is radio talk show host. She created and hosted a weekly show on NewsTalk 820AM, a legal, political and social conversation on current affairs. Ms. Phidd promotes a few things in her community efforts. They are a cure for cancer, diabetes and sickle cell. In addition, she encourages the community to vote and promotes Caribbean Americans having an American voice. You can view her “causes” video online. Ms. Phidd speaks to all size business groups and will always connect law, business and society. Last but not least, Ms. Phidd published a poetry book for entertainment purposes in 2007 and is currently working on her book for the business community to be published by Spring 2010. MEDIA APPEARANCES 2009 - 2009 Hosted her own Radio Talk on WWBA NewsTalk 820AM in Florida. A legal, political and social conversation where she informed, educated and inspired the listeners. 2007-2009 Appeared on WTMP on the Citizens Report with Jeti B. Wilds to discuss legal issues, political issues and social issues. Some topics were the 2008 general election process and the effect on the women politicians, Minorities in Tampa Bay and the effects of the community in various arenas, Republican ideologies versus Democratic ideologies regarding minorities etc. 2009 BLOGS at www.aliciaphidd.blogspot.com 2007 Appeared on Daytime syndicated program on NBC in Tampa, Florida as local poet and Attorney to show her culinary skills. 2007 A cameo host appearance on IvisionTV.net at the Lions’ Den networking event
