Gregory Akers also known as Arteest, is a 23 year old University of Maryland English major with plans to make big things happen in the future. Talented with the pen, Arteest is a poet, fiction writer, song writer; and a mixtape, album, and movie critic. Outside of writing reviews and literary works, he likes to freestyle rap, draw, and listen to music for leisure. As an active senior, he is the president of the only Hip-Hop club on the University of Maryland’s College Park campus. As an enterprising entrepreneur with a love for music, he has promoted DMV music artists and producers through various online and word of mouth marketing methods, organizes and sponsors events, and keeps an ongoing mixtape series under his ArtLyfEnt imprint. As a member of MetroMuseNews.com he has had the opportunity to interview some of the hottest up-and-coming and veteran soul singers, such as Christopher Boykins III, Eva Kennedy, Conya Doss and The Floacist Natalie Richards.
