his showcase will demonstrate an ongoing project, Friendly Russian, by UNC Charlotte Russian faculty members to develop a customized workbook with online activities for elementary Russian students. We will hear about the design of theworkbook and the process of developing a customized workbook. We will also see online activities created with Hot Potatoes and online videos created with Camtasia.

Dr. Koralova will discuss the design of the textbook and workbookand describe the process of developing a customized textbook andworkbook and finding support for this kind of project. She will demonstratethe components of her textbook and workbook.

Prof. Baldwin & Courtney Ecklund will demonstrate the interactive online activities they created to enrich the online component of the workbook. Prof. Baldwin has used Hot Potatoes to create self-grading crossword puzzles, flash cards, and drag & drop activities. She has also developed short videos using Camtasia and a web cam on her laptop to show how to write the Cyrillic script. More
