Monday night meeting in San Antonio Texas with Michele Longo O'Donnell. Over my 38 years as a health care provider, I came to see with increasing clarity that there was a definite connection between the thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and expectations that my patients held in their consciousness and the progress that we were able to make in restoring their health. For instance, where there were thoughts of fear or anger, bitterness over past hurts, habitual criticizing of the failures and shortcomings of others, etc., there was generally little to no progress made.
Also, those who held an image of their disease in their minds (based on what was told to them about the disease and what they had read) simply could not let go of the image to allow the healing to take place. I began to see that trying to be healed while gasping at the horrors of the disease was somewhat like trying to get to Houston while following a Los Angeles map!
We need to look in the direction we wish to go. We need to understand the tremendous impact our thoughts have over the life we are living.
