The 2015 East Texas Pump Jacks head to Tyler for their 8th season of family fun and baseball this summer. New coach Sam Bjorling and his squad look to continue the franchise's streak of never missing the TCL playoffs.
East Texas had been very successful in their first seven seasons in the TCL. The club won the 2012 title and finished the season ranked No. 11 in the country by Perfect Game. The Jacks have been nationally ranked at the end of two seasons, reaching a peak of No. 7 out of more than 250 summer collegiate teams.
The Pump Jacks have had nearly 60 players drafted by major league organizations. Hunter Dozier, the 2011 TCL Freshman of the Year as a member of the Pump Jacks, set the TCL record for highest drafted player when he was picked eighth overall by the Kansas City Royals in 2013. Three Pump Jacks have gone on to play in the big leagues: Scott Copeland with the Toronto Blue Jays, Jacob Lindgren with the New York Yankees, and David Rollins with the Seattle Mariners.
East Texas will be playing their home games for the first time at Irwin UT Tyler Ballpark. Standard game times are 7:05 Central Time, with doubleheaders beginning at either 5:05 or 6:05.
