Rogan, Redban and Segura wonder how musicians can do multiple things at a time. It's not so much multitasking as it is learning to play an instrument. When you're playing guitar you learn to follow the beat of the drummer. When someone is playing something and they can carry on a conversation at the same time, it's because they've played it HUNDREDS of times. Redban, drummers aren't doing two different beats, it's all part of the same beat. One part lends to the next creating one entire beat. If you look at it like one leg is doing this and the other is doing that, yeah it sounds overwhelming, but it's all part of the same beat. I play guitar, when I hold a chord I'm holding down multiple strings at a time, but I'm not thinking about each finger, because I already know how to form the chord because I've done it a hundred times before. If the chord is NEW to me, though, yeah I'm thinking about my finger placement. But once I'm used to it, I don't have to think about it at all. It's ALL muscle memory guys.
