Pets, Animals - Wild Animals
This LIVE broadcast will be following a specific family of some ten meerkats known as the Gosa Gang. They have made their home in Tswalu Kalahari Reserve in the Southern Kalahari in South Africa. The southern Kalahari, due to its location and local climatic conditions, receives somewhat more rain than the central Kalahari, allowing it to support a large diversity of life. It is for this reason that the southern Kalahari is frequently referred to as the “Green Kalahari” – this is the home of Tswalu Kalahari Reserve (www.tswalu.com)
This colony of meerkats has grown to trust people and allow close approach and observation. Our crew of four will follow them from the moment they pop out of the burrow in the morning (around 05h00 GMT) and start to groom and carry out daily chores such as burrow maintenance. When this is all done they will leave the burrow to forage. Our cameraman and tracker will follow them and film their every activity LIVE for you to see. All shot at meerkat eye level this LIVE broadcast catches the pure essence of the Kalahari and what it’s actually like being inside the Gosa gang. Once the sun sets the meerkats will disappear back down their burrow and soon we hope to have underground burrow cams to film their activities below ground LIVE for you to follow through the African night.
