For August and September 09 Justin Allen was online artist-in-residence at The Art of Engagement. For his online residency he created VTC2.0 (messages for the future), a virtual time capsule into which people from around the world placed digital items for the future.

To seal the capsule Justin performed an online ceremony on Tues 22nd Sept, the moment of the Autumnal Equinox. Performing live from his apartment in east London, Justin had his lips sealed with stitches and observed an hour of silence, live online. Audiences were invited to join him via the Internet and share silence with him.
