Dawdu Mahama-Amantanah (Year Up Class of July 2011, Fund Accountant at State Street, currently attending UMassBoston). Mr. Mahama-Amantanah delivers a poignant challenge to the Coalition for Community College Rally attendees – business leaders, government officials, community leaders, and citizens alike – to think differently about the challenges facing working young adults at community colleges throughout the Commonwealth, many of whom are attempting to earn a degree and a livable wage while pursuing a relevant degree or certificate in a competitive market. He illustrates a vision for his future – one he had revived while interning at J.P. Morgan Chase, and is now refining at State Street Investments. He parallels his journey with those of current community college students; too many of their roadmaps for the future reach an impasse during college, blocking them from the jobs they seek and the economy where their talent is needed.
