Upcoming Event: JPL Open House

This is a one-camera view of JPL Open House 2015 that will give you quick look at the event. The camera is fixed above the Mars Exploration area.

Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, 2015
9:00 a.m—4:00 p.m. PDT each day

NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California, invites the public to its annual Open House on October 10-11, 2015. The event is free of charge and takes visitors on a “ride” through the wonders of space.

It’s not unusual for up to 20,000 people per day to come to JPL during Open House. Visitors have great experiences, but making the visit enjoyable may require patience -- and planning. For those coming in person, here are some suggestions to get the most out of your day:

  • Arrive early and be patient as Oak Grove Drive is the only entrance that will be open.
  • Use the JPL Open House Web app to locate attractions and get wait times.
  • Keep in mind that most experiences at JPL’s Open House are not intended for the very young.
  • Need help? Look for JPLers in bright red JPL-Caltech shirts.
  • Vehicles entering NASA-JPL property are subject to inspection.
  • Visitors cannot bring these items: weapons, explosives, incendiary devices, dangerous instruments, alcohol, illegal drugs, pets, all types of skates including skateboards, Segways and bicycles. No bags, backpacks or ice chests are allowed, except small purses and diaper bags. Drones are not allowed to fly over NASA-JPL under any circumstances.
