Viacom Signs LIVE Web-Exclusive Content Distribution Deal with Ustream

PARTNERSHIP OFFICIALLY KICKS OFF WITH A LIVE USTREAM OF

“VH1 DIVAS CELEBRATES SOUL” RED CARPET ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18 FROM 5-7PM ET

New York, NY, December 15, 2011 – Viacom (NASDAQ: VIA, VIAB) today announced an agreement to stream live, web-exclusive  content through Ustream, the leader in live video (www.ustream.com). The partnership officially kicks off with a live Ustream of “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” Red Carpet on Sunday, December 18th from 5-7pm ET, and will include future live online-only broadcasts of red carpet premieres, musical performances and more from MTV, VH1, CMT, COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike.

Under the deal terms, Ustream will partner with select Viacom networks including MTV, VH1, CMT, COMEDY CENTRAL and Spike, to regularly distribute its live digital content in real time, including O Music Awards, Live in NYC, and Red Carpet premieres. Recent beta tests have included The Breaking Dawn Red Carpet Premiere and Mac Miller Live in Chicago.

The partnership will officially kickoff with the simultaneous live webcast of the “VH1 Divas Celebrates Soul” Red Carpet, which will be exclusively live streamed on VH1.com and on Ustream.com on Sunday, December 18 from 5-7pm ET. Sponsored by Samsung, and hosted by VH1 personality La La Vasquez, the live web only show will provide fans an unfiltered front row seat to all the red carpet action and will feature real time interviews with entertainment’s biggest stars (#VH1Divas). Beginning Monday, December 19, fans can view a curated Red Carpet highlights video on VH1.com and watch the VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul debuting on VH1 at 9pm ET.
