About Eaglecrest: Founded in 1992, Eaglecrest is a 200-acre private estate named for the Bald and Golden eagles that live there. Eaglecrest provides a home for many different kinds of wildlife, including owls, deer, coyotes, mountain lions, racoons, opposums, skunks, rattlesnakes, gopher snakes, king snakes, water snakes, leopard lizards, blue bellied lizards, and skinks.

David McDonald, Eaglecrest's founder, has a deep and abiding interest in wildlife. In addition to preserving ponds and wild spaces on his estate, he and his staff work with Fresno Wildlife Rehabilitation to treat, rehabilitate and return injured and ill birds of prey to the wild. To date, Eaglecrest has rehabilitated Red-tailed hawks, Cooper's hawks, Red-shouldered hawks, Swainson's hawks, Great horned owls, and a Golden eagle. The Eaglecrest rehabilation center includes a 20x30 flight cage and mews. A local hatchery provides day-old chicks, augmented with squirrels caught by the estate's two Black labs, Ralph and Alice.

Mission control is located in the office at Eaglecrest's guest house, and is approximately 330' from the nest tree. The system has four cameras - three in the tree and one on the eaves of the guesthouse. The tree cams include a fixed bullet camera, a fixed IR bullet camera (for night vision), and a PTZ camera, which allows staff to pan the surrounding areas and zoom in on the nest or other wildlife in the tree. In addition to the resident geese, you might see Red-tailed hawks, Coyotes, Red Acorn woodpeckers, a Great Horned owl, Red-shouldered hawks, and Grey squirrels.

We hope you enjoy watching our cam.

The Raptor Resource Project

Established in 1988, the non-profit Raptor Resource Project specializes in the preservation of falcons, eagles, ospreys, hawks, and owls. We establish and strengthen breeding populations of these raptors by creating, improving, and maintaining nests and nest sites. In addition to directly managing over 40 falcon, eagle, and owl nest sites, we provide training in nest site creation and management across the United States, reach more than 85,000 people each year through lectures, education programs, and our website, and develop innovations in nest site management and viewing that bring people closer to the world around them. Our mission is to preserve and strengthen raptor populations, to expand participation in raptor preservation, and to help foster the next generation of preservationists. Our work deepens the connection between people and the natural world, bringing benefits to both.
