I've retired the camera -- the kittens knocked it down, and it's really not useful anymore.

It's been a great experience being able to bring Kilo and her litter to the awesome cat lovers on ustream. Thank you for your continued support during both the good times and the bad -- it's been very reassuring to know there are other people out
there who care so much about my furry friends, and for cats in general. For that, I am grateful.
Finally, to quote the great Bob Barker: Please, have your pets spayed and neutered. There are too many kittens and puppies in this world who haven't been as fortunate as Kilo was to be rescued as she was. Thanks for listening!

Tango's been adopted!!! A very loving couple fell in love with her, and she's off to start a wonderful life with them. As much as I wished she could have gone with Zulu, it really was for the best. Zulu's a little sad, but she will find her own prefect forever home soon enough.
Kilo was a rescued barn cat who came to me as a foster on Jan 31st. On Feb 11th she gave birth to 7 kittens. 2 didn't survive their first week, which isn't surprising considering it was a large litter and Kilo is a very small cat. The remaining five were named Whiskey, Echo, Sierra, Tango and Zulu.
Almost 6 weeks later tragedy struck, and on March 24th little Whiskey passed away. He was smaller than the others, and although always a scrappy little fighter, in the end he just wasn't strong enough. 5 days later, Sierra had to leave to go keep her little brother company. She was my little cuddlebutt, always looking for a lap to curl up in, but she too succumbed to the disease. I only had these adorable kittens in my care for 6 short weeks, but it was long enough for them to touch my heart. They will both be missed.
The disease looked to be something called calicivirus. It is typically vaccinated against at 8 weeks of age, but has a high mortality rate in kittens. The remaining three kittens (Zulu, Tango and Echo) got their shots early after little Sierra passed, and it seems to have done the trick, thank goodness.
Tango and Zulu are the two bigger kittens, weighing in at close to 2.5 lbs They're both a tad excitable and well, crazy -- just like normal kittens should be.
Echo is my tiny baby. She's growing quickly, is earing tons, and is a bundle of energy however. I originally thought she might be deaf, but it appears that the antibiotics she's one cleared up whatever infection was causing her troubles.
And, and the ringworm's almost all gone too. :)
