On Monday, August 19th, the World We Want Platform will host the second interactive session of its 'People's Voices' Series. The theme for this month's event will be persons with disabilities and the post-2015 agenda, and feature a discussion on how these voices have been reflected in the post-2015 process so far, what the successes and challenges have been, and what opportunities exist for strengthening this engagement moving forward. Representatives of non-governmental organizations, community organizations, youth-led organizations, UN agencies, Member States, private sector, media, academia and individuals are invited to attend.
As always, the 'People's Voices' series will respond to people's voices calling for an end to poverty and present people's ideas for global development around important themes and topics. It will include an overview of how the World We Want platform can gather the voices of the most marginalized and impoverished, bring them to the United Nations and the world stage, and facilitate deeper discussion, stronger action, accountability and response to these voices by all actors.
