Anyone can watch me paint, but if you want to participate in the live chat as well, you will need a ustream login and password. You only have to do this once. Just make sure you choose a permanent nickname that makes it easy for us to recognize you...not something like seashells-NB or paintingwhiz ….you know what I mean. Your first name and your province or state is recommended, such as: Sarah-ON or Bob-TN or Daniel-UK – along these lines. To get a login, follow the instructions on the page link above or go to Ustream.TV

After you are all setup, when you enter the Live Video Studio, you will see video and hear me speaking. If you arrive a little earlier than the start time, my radio or a CD will be playing. If you cannot hear any music or see video, please check your speakers, turn off popup blockers etc. If you still cannot hear audio or see video, please visit Ustream.tv and consult their free technical support. If you are a wireless network, you may have to move your laptop to get a better connection, but we do have viewers that are on wireless and can watch our sessions.

You need a high speed internet connection to watch our sessions. If you are on dialup, satellite, slow wireless or highspeed that doesn't seem very fast, we can send a stream to you only if you are using PalTalk. Visit paltalk.com for more information on the version of software that would be suitable for your internet connection. We do not provide any technical support for third party programs. You need to work with the developers of the software and Paltalk offers amazing tech support for free!

For better quality video, please close any computer programs running in the background. The only thing that should be running is the video and chat screen. Also, I've found out that if you are in a household with more than one computer and someone is playing online games, downloading or listening to music while you are trying to view the video, this will slow down your internet connection and the video and audio will be choppy.


Chatroom Etiquette: We spend alot of time and resources for our shows so please be considerate by not using our chatroom as an advertising platform for yourself, other artists, shows or websites. You never know who is part of our viewing audience, so criticizing the subject matter, other artists, or shows is frowned upon. Because this show is open to the public and some of our viewers are of a younger age, we have disabled links in the chatroom and appropriate language is required.

Make sure your CAP LOCKS are off. There is nothing more frustrating for everyone in chat to read text all in upper case. It's also very hard to me to catch any questions people may have.

Although I will try to answer any questions you may have, WTA sessions are not classes and do not include formal instruction. Depending on how many people are in the audience, the chat moves pretty fast, so if I miss a question, please ask again.


Videos on CD or DVD
The WTA sessions are all video taped and they will be available on this website usually within 48 hours. No editing is done with this segments, what you see is what you get including the chit chat with the viewers, my tea break, Chaos making a visit and painting of course! All the videos hold a copyright and downloading and sharing is not permitted. Many people have asked if they can buy the videos on a CD or DVD including my line drawings and reference material...the answer is yes and it's for a very small donation, usually between $5-$10 (including shipping). It takes alot of resources to offer the Watch the Artist series to the public at no charge, but note that the videos will always be free to watch on artbynature.ca. ( show more )
