Voice10 is the UK's landmark conference for social enterprise. Now in its sixth year, the 2010 event will be hosted in Wales for the first time, thanks to the support of our principal sponsors, the Welsh Assembly Government.
Social Enterprise: No More Business as Usual.
With the UK still in recession, the Social Enterprise Coalition believes it is the time to challenge the "usual" approach to business. At Voice10, the movement will come together to respond to some key questions and provide answers to challenges we are facing in the current economic climate.
How can ensure social enterprises have a greater impact and help rebuild a better, more sustainable economy?
Can they reform public services at a time when value for money is one of the most important issues facing us today?
And how can we make new connections and collaborate with each other and with the private sector?
Social enterprises are businesses run for social and environmental purposes. There are approximately 62,000 social enterprises in the UK with a combined turnover of £27billion. They operate in a wide variety of sectors including health, education, retail, technology, renewable energy, the arts, and employment.
For the past five years Voice has brought together thousands of people from the UK and abroad, including leaders from the worlds of social enterprise, government, politics and business.
"Your creativity, dynamism, compassion and ingenuity is absolutely central to the good economic future we must build in our country"
Conservative party leader David Cameron, Voice09
