This is a press conference with Utah State Attorney General Mark Shurtleff to announce the launch of the nation's first statewide crime alert system that can notify the public about specific crimes in individual neighborhoods. The program will also enhance the ability of law enforcement agencies to identify trends and trouble spots that cross jurisdictional borders.

Utah is the first state to adopt and fund CrimeReports.com on a statewide level. CrimeReports.com is a free service to community members.
