That fictitious tale is interwoven with playwright Kathryn… Inspired by the ancient Greek comedy "Lysistrata," "The Boycott" tells the story of Lyssa Stratton, First Lady of the United States, launching a giant sex strike to combat global warming.
That fictitious tale is interwoven with playwright Kathryn Blume's personal account of trying to write a comedy which will help save the world from climate change while also struggling with the emotional impact of living on a planet in serious peril.
"The Boycott" premiered in a 6-week Off-Broadway run in October, 2007, and has since toured to over 20 cities in the US and UK. The Copenhagen performance marks the show's European debut.
The performance is being introduced at the UN Summit in Copenhagen by Bill McKibben, founder of the climate action group 350.org.
