TalkingThing is a non-profit organization and is a project directed to the handicraft construction of musical instruments and multimedia-oriented support of musicians and performers.
Brainchild of Matteo De Ruggieri (aka EraSer) and Emanuele Ponzio (aka ape5) and winner of the 2010 call Principi Attivi, "New ideas for a better Puglia", promoted by Regione Puglia (Italy), the project intends to experiment with processes of self-production craft and art of electronic tools for applications, music and multimedia, including through the recycling of old electronic components, andreuse of obsolete electronic items.
The idea was born from the need for tools and interfaces specific to the artistic activity through the DIY ethic of self, sharing this need with musicians, DJs,video artists, actors, performers also by organizing training courses andworkshops.
