Deviance revolves around many concepts that Mike Uhlig cherishes. Many of these concepts Mike has experience first hand as a Sniper for the Department of Defense for six years, most of that time in the Special Operations. Deviance showcases a great skill for technical death metal and establishes forward-thinking with progressive views in life.
Mike Uhlig’s life has greatly revolved around music since he was a young child. Mike Uhlig started playing music as a young teenager in Louisville, KY. When he was 19, he moved to Seattle and started a few bands there. He played in many different styles of music, but always held onto his metal influences. In 2010, Michael Uhlig got signed with a small label with a band from Seattle called Thorns and Thrones. A very post-hardcore band, which he played lead guitar for. Soon, he moved to Kansas because of his job.
In Kansas, Mike met up with great musicians and became the lead guitar for a very popular band in that region called Wrath Of The Fallen. They recorded their four song EP with Mike on lead guitar and he had to move back to Louisville, KY because of a few other band members had to move away, one deploying to Kuwait.
Michael went through a band per month before realizing that he could not find dedicated musicians that were into extreme metal in the region. In September of 2014, he decided to come up a new idea that wasn’t yet exploited in the region. He started a one-man-band that focused on honing his technical death metal influences and added great mixes of black metal and other sub genres in there. From jazz to fusion, Deviance delivers under the fabrication of TechDeth!
