The International Space Apps Challenge is a world-wide event sponsored by NASA and SecondMuse and is taking place on April 21st and 22nd. This hack-a-thon or code-a-thon style event encourages science and technology lovers to build, create, and invent new solutions to challenges of global importance. The Space Apps Challenge celebrates software development in its most positive context—using minimal resources and maximum brainpower to create outside-the-box solutions to interesting problems. At the event, individuals collaborate with others by forming teams focused on solving a particular challenge. The teams compete with other teams around the world to utilize publicly available space and data to design innovative “solutions” to a pre-determined series of global “challenges.” The Miami location will be at Florida International University's Engineering Center in room 2300. All interested participants must register for the Miami location at spaceappschallenge.org."
