Renee Joshua-Porter has over twenty-five years experience as an educator, union actress, singer, and voice over artist, and has appeared in national commercials, and regional theaters. She founded The Burning Bush Family Foundation Inc. in 1994 to provide educational and recreational programs for children and families through the use of the performing arts. www.burningbushfamily.com Mrs. Joshua-Porter is a drama director and continues to use multimedia to plan and coordinate productions for diverse populations, including at-risk youth, the homeless and individuals in recovery. Mrs. Joshua-Porter is a Teaching Artist in Personal Development for Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation Inc. The previous Coordinator of the Parent Leadership Training Institute in the Town of Babylon. A former professional storyteller for the New York City Parks and Recreation Department participating in their initiative to increase literacy through the boroughs of New York. She also received the Golden Earphones award for her narration of The Life of Sojourner Truth with Audio Bookshelf. She is a recipient of the 2013 Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Award, The SHERO Award for Community Service in the Town of Babylon and other recognitions. The married mother of three is an avid cook, resident of Long Island, New York and is devoted to the rebuilding of families and using her craft in all forms to join communities and promote wellness.
