Audubon's vision is to protect and increase essential habitat for cranes, least terns and piping plovers on the Platte River. Mission: To conserve Platte River ecosystems for cranes and other wildlife through conservation and education. Company Overview: For more than a century, Audubon has built a legacy of conservation success by mobilizing the strength of its network of members, Chapters, Audubon Centers, state offices and dedicated professional staff to connect people with nature and the power to protect it. Description: Rowe Sanctuary protects and manages over 2,300 acres and five miles of River channel. Established in 1974 the Sanctuary was the first land protected for sandhill cranes on the Platte River. It has been designated as a Globally Important Bird Area, part of an international effort to protect the world's most important sites for birds.
