ABOUT COACH RYEAL:
As the official relationship coach for the Tavis Smiley Foundation Leadership Institute, Ryeal is a highly sought after lecturer and facilitator for seminars, workshops and conferences nationwide. Formerly the resident relationship expert for 102.3 KLJH’s Home Team Morning Show in Los Angeles, Ryeal has also sat on panels for Bridging the Black Gender Gap and The Los Angeles Black Book Expo. Additionally, he’s appeared on numerous talk shows, including Jamie Foxx’s The Foxxhole, The Poetess Show on 92.3/100.3 - The Beat (now V-100) and The Jesse Lee Peterson Show. Ryeal’s extensive professional credits also include serving as the resident relationship coach for the website/dating service OneKeyAway, moderating for Girlfriends – a monthly Blackweekly.com singles gathering, facilitating a seminar from his Prepare for Love series, Conscious Choices: Life-Skill Relationship Training for Teens, for the Los Angeles Urban League’s Milken Family Literacy and Youth Training Center.
A licensed and certified singles/couples relationship coach and marriage educator, Ryeal coaches singles, committed and married clients. He’s also penning his debut book on marriage, How My Wife Chose Her Husband, developing a line of relationship empowerment cards and producing Prepare For Love, a DVD series for singles. Happily married, Ryeal lives in Los Angeles with his wife and business partner.
ABOUT YO GIRL DELORES:
A 15 year radio veteran Delores’ style of jockin’ has often been compared to the great radio legends of past. Taking an old school approach to radio and known for her intimate interviewing style, Delores has a way of getting folk to open up and take off the mask, because she takes it off first!
A Bay Area native, Delores began her journey in radio in 1992 at KGFJ 1230 A.M. in Los Angeles. Through her drive and ambition she went from working one day a month to assistant program/music director to Mid-day On-Air Personality all within two years.
Two years later, Delores moved on to host a mid-day show at 102.3 KJLH F.M. where she quickly began to build a following though her ability to relate everyone. While holding down her show, Delores founded The Sista Girl Network – an on line Internet network for women – whose purpose is to uplift, encourage and edify each other. Currently more than 200 members strong with Sista Girls ranging from Los Angeles to New York and even England, members are known for aiding the community with food, clothing, counseling and love.
ABOUT PRODUCER, MONICE MITCHELL SIMMS
A seasoned journalist with reporting credits for numerous publications, including Newsweek Magazine, The Directors Guild of America Magazine, and The Detroit Free Press, Monice is also an award-winning writer/director/producer and President/CEO of Flower Girl Productions.
Her first film, Carmin’s Choice – lauded as a raw and brilliant look at a female ex-convict’s struggle to stay on the right path – won Monice Showtime’s prestigious Black Filmmaker Showcase Award. And in 1998, Showtime granted her $30,000 to write, produce and direct Rain, a love story set during the final hours of the world, which premiered on the network in 2002.
Combining her journalism and creative talents, Monice has also produced numerous public service announcements and documentaries, including Breaking the Silence, a Verizon and Los Angeles Urban League sponsored PSA on teen dating abuse prevention; Keeping the Faith, a documentary on the life and career of PRI/PBS talk show host, Tavis Smiley; and a leadership documentary series for youth commissioned by the Tavis Smiley Foundation.
