Today there is a call from the Lord to, “Come up higher”. Just as God spoke to the prophet Habakkuk in the Bible when he was crying out to understand the ways and timing of the Lord, he had to climb the tower and look to see what God would say to him as he stood in his watch. 2011 is our “watch” our time and season. God is calling us “up” so that we can “see” what He is saying for our day. The truth that Habakkuk learned is still good for us in this time. “The Just shall live by Faith” (Hab. 2:6) and that “the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.” (Hab. 2:14). In these troubled times we trust God, and know that His Word is Truth and Life in spite of every circumstance and situation. He is God and our Salvation is in Him, with the prophet we can say: “yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! The Sovereign Lord is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.” (NLT Habakkuk 3:18-19.)
