The Occupy Journal Global Edition : http://paper.li/OLAnewscast/1322084751
Inspired by Tim Pool and his coverage of OccupyWallSt on #N17, I have decided to cover our local #OccupyLA / #OLA movement. I wish to provide the viewers with news information with as little bias as possible so that our viewers can make an informed decision about what is happening with the occupation in Los Angeles.
My humble hope is that many citizen journalists all over the globe can come together and provide coverage of their local occupy movement without corporate bias. I believe that we can bring honest journalism back to our local communities with enough support of the people.
My coverage is 100% funded by small donors like you. I am not officially associated with the OccupyLA General Assembly therefore receive no funds or equipment from their general fund.
Please consider a donation of $10.01 (Oct.1 to commemorate the start of #OccupyLA occupation of City Hall) to continue and expand our coverage.
Besides paying for commercial free stream first, the funds will be used on a laptop, one additional 4g capable T-mobile dual-core smartphone to equip another citizen journalist, one additional 18000mAh battery pack, and two solar panels capable of recharging battery packs during day. I also wish to get some help from one or two talented volunteers who can help design and maintain a new website to be used as a portal that can serve all citizen journalist live streaming in unison. Please contact me if you can offer your talents and volunteer.
Any additional donations we receive will be directly used to help create a new non profit coalition of citizen journalists that are covering the occupation. Your donation will help equip additional talented journalists with proper gear to give you better coverage. My hope is that this coalition of journalist will grow into an entirely new kind of news outlet for Los Angeles that can provide honest and objective journalism on topics that mass media often fails to cover.
Thank you for your generosity. I will strive to bring you the best real-time and live news on the latest developments on OccupyLA.
