You may watch the unedited video of the 2013 Nevada Day Parade, just as it would have looked had we been able to stream it. You will notice that the screen goes blue at about 26 minutes into the parade and remains that way until about 36 minutes in. (The audio is still there.) We lost a camera feed into our system and were so busy trying to figure out the streaming situation that we didn't notice. (It also was very hard to see the screens in the bright sunlight. Otherwise we probably would have noticed sooner.) We had everything working by about 40 minutes in and it continued to work the rest of the parade.
The audio sounds crunchy! Yes it does. We had a direct feed from the announcers' PA system and that is how it came to us. That is also how it sounded directly from the speaker next to us.
We regret that we were unable to connect with Ustream to broadcast the 2013 parade. We still don't know why. We were able to visit, log on, post, view and stream on other sites. We continued trying throughout the parade. A few minutes after the last entry passed us, like it was mocking us, the broadcaster finally opened. Alas it was too late.
*(edit: The video is up.) We did record the parade and are working diligently to get it uploaded for you. If you would like to be notified when it is up please send an email to info at weshootvideo dot net. We should have DVDs available in a few weeks as well.
We are already working on our plans for next year and will do all that we can to ensure this doesn't happen to us again.
Thank you for your understanding.
Nevada Day! Nobody throws a statehood celebration like Nevada's. There's a carnival, the Governor's Banquet, and a giant party in Carson City (the capital) with a 200 + entry parade right down main street, past the capitol and legislative buildings. There's also the Pinewood Derby and a beard contest judged, in part, by members of the Nevada Supreme Court.
This year also kicks off the celebration and countdown to Nevada's 150th birthday, October 31, 2014.
We Shoot Video are bringing you the parade, LIVE, on Saturday morning, October 26 at 10 am PDT. Please join us.
(Note: the parade starts at 10 am. Our location is approximately 15 to 20 minutes down the route. We plan to begin broadcasting as soon as we are set up.)
