Welcome cam viewers!
There were originally three chicks in this nest, and they were laid on May 3, 6, and 9. And they hatched on June 12, 13, and 15. Unfortunately since then, the male adult hit a power line near the nest and passed away, and shortly after that, two chicks died of starvation since the male wasn't bringing new fish to the nest. For a short while, Nelson Hydro tried delivering fresh fish to the nest daily but the female did not accept them. Eventually on July 4th, the last chick was rescued by O.W.L. You can check on the progress of "Nel" the last remaining chick of this nest on O.W.L's website: http://www.owlcanada.org/news-events/
This is a Live Osprey Nest cam located 2km west of Nelson, B.C. Brought to you by Columbia Wireless and Nelson Hydro.
