The students of Hocking College’s music program in cooperation with the Broadcast Engineering and Production technology, are seeking different ways to reach out to fellow students and showcase their talent. The Lunchtime Concert series was established in effort to do just that. Hocking College’s student-run record label Can’t Live Without Records will be presenting a series of mini concerts on campus every Tuesday in May from 11:30am-12:30pm. The Lunchtime Concert Series opens Tuesday, May 3, 2011 in front of the student center on Hocking’s Campus with local band Lawn Chair Hookup and Brandon Ashcraft. The series will conclude on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.
Since its inception Fall quarter of 2011, Hocking students and faculty have been exposed the talent that is right under their noses and the music students have been given an outlet to put into practice the things they have been learning. The School of Music business students plan and run the event, while the School of Music production students handle all of the live engineering, giving each the perfect opportunity to hone their skills.
