Corruption affects women and men differently. Particularly as women often face social, cultural, political and institutional discrimination, they encounter even more repression and social exclusion in a corruption-ridden society. During the upcoming 58th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women, UNDP together with the Huairou Commission will organize a dialogue with grassroots women and government representatives to discuss how supporting women’s engagement and strategies can help to build transparent and effective governance to redress the impact of corruption in the context of 2015 development agenda. The event will also present the forthcoming e-learning course on gender equality, women’s empowerment and anti-corruption.
