Egg #2 laid at 8:06 a.m. 04/10/15
Egg #1 laid in the early morning 04/08/15 (Kristoff is 20 days out of his shell)
A bit about me - I am a naturalist specializing in the area of cetaceans (whales and dolphins). I'm blessed to see magnificent creatures and love them all large or small. I'm not always available to monitor the hummingbird cams because I live a very active life in spite of some serious health issues.
If any of the mods, Curtis, LuisDLion or Geronimocrow are not available, please leave your questions in either SS or Chat and we'll try to get to them asap. I'm happy to share these precious hummingbirds with you and feel blessed that they have chosen my rose trees in which to nest since 2009. There are 9 rose trees in a row next to a lattice fence in my side yard. I've had both Anna's hummingbirds and Allen's hummingbirds nest in the rose trees. Alena ruled the yard until February 2015 when Elsa took over her territory when her chicks, Oscar and Emmy fledged. This is Elsa's 2nd nest in the rose trees. She is currently multitasking, raising a singleton named Kristoff while she works on reconstructing a nest that formerly was built by Alena. Please bear with me as I try to adjust the camera placement. This nest is approximately 5 feet from the ground and is in very tight branches of the rose tree.
I ask that you respect that this is a family friendly - 'G' rated show. Please do NOT use flashing avatars as they trigger migraines in myself and others.
Thank for watching and enjoy!
