The U.S. Department of State will host a conference on Monday, May 10, 2010 in Washington, D.C. to highlight tech efforts at work in building back Haiti better following the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. Members of the private sector, NGOs, academia, Haitian Diaspora and public sector will demonstrate and discuss their innovations in Haiti.
Examples include:
Incorporating SMS into the emergency response system;
Mobile-granting/banking;
Resource allocation; and
Distance education.
This event will be in part Ignite style to facilitate ideas from the entire audience. Follow the event on Twitter #HaitiTech.
