Our Vision: To be a loving and inviting body of Christ, growing in faith through the grace of Jesus Christ, seeking to transform lives and promote justice, equity and wholeness in the world through leadership, teaching, worship, evangelism and service.
Our Mission: The mission of Faith Temple Baptist Church, ABC-USA is to make and develop disciples who love God with their whole hearts and love their neighbor as themselves and function as the body of Christ, responding to the needs of all people by promoting justice, equity, freedom and wholeness through service and the liberating gospel of Jesus Christ.
What We Believe: The members of Faith Temple Baptist Church, ABC-USA, while placing our faith wholly in the Lord Jesus Christ for our Salvation, believe in the teachings and practices of the American Baptist Churches USA. Foremost among beliefs firmly held by American Baptists is the acknowledgment that Jesus Christ is our Redeemer and our Lord, and that through belief in Him we are assured of eternal fellowship with a loving God.
The foundation of Christian belief--and the greatest event in all history--is the drama of the first Easter week: the death of Christ, in which He took upon Himself all the sins of the world, and the Resurrection, which offers glorious proof of His teaching and His triumph over sin and death.
Holy Scripture always has been our most authoritative guide to knowing and serving the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer). As the divinely-inspired word of God, the Bible reveals our faith and its mandated practice.
Not Church As Usual: Every gift comes from God and is intended for Gods glory. The worship services at Faith Temple are not your typical traditional worship services. Each participant is welcomed to worship freely as the Holy Spirit leads. Further, we tend to worship out of the box using our gifts of dance, song, poetry, rap, performance arts and more to reach a diverse array of Gods children.
Not only do we worship outside the box, but we believe in a come-as-you-are philosophy. That is you are welcomed to come and worship with us in jeans, sweats, suit and tie, slacks, skirts, work uniform attire, etc. Further, we expect that you come-as-you-are spiritually too. You are welcomed to join us as we worship on Sunday morning at 11 am, 324 East Park Avenue, in Waterloo, Iowa.
