The United Nations Development Program and the Revenue Watch Institute cordially invite you to
A Seminar presenting the Resource Governance Index 2013
The number of countries that depend on oil, gas and mineral exports to finance their social and economic development is increasing significantly. However, key to the success of natural resource governance are transparency and accountability. These include disclosure of information on contracts, payments, taxes, environmental and social safeguards as well as revenue distribution and investments.
Produced by Revenue Watch, the Resource Governance Index measures the quality of governance in the oil, gas and mining sector of 58 countries worldwide, from highly ranked mature producers of oil to emerging exporters.
The Bureau for Development Policy (BDP), UNDP will host a discussion on the Index: its construction and relevance for policy making.
