Founded 2001
About:
Dreamchaser Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation is a registered 501(c)3 and is an accredited American Sanctuary.
Company Overview:
Dreamchaser has a Board of Directors. Susan N. Thompson is the founder. We are an all volunteer organization located on five acres in New River, Arizona. We rely on donations to help us feed and care for over 50 horses, 25 goats and sheep, dogs, cats, birds, llamas, ducks, and chickens.
Mission:
Our mission is to save abandoned, abused, and malnourished horses from slaughter. We rescue from individual owners, feedlots, and Premarin farms. We educate the public about horsemanship, slaughter, and the value of animals in our lives. Our horses and farm animals are also used in living classrooms to expose and educate children, especially the at-risk and underprivileged.
Products:
We are currently supporting over 50 horses, with 16 currently available for adoption. We require contracts and applications, and thoroughly screen all applicants. Our goal is to place these horses and youngsters into qualified, permanent homes. 95% of the horses were wild when they arrived at Dreamchaser. They are not available for adoption until they are gentled and trained to a level appropriate for their ages. Our horses range in age from 3 months to 27 years.
