Dr. Richard Vulliet, D.V.M., a Professor in the Department of Veterinary Molecular Biosciences at the University of California, Davis, has been using stem cell therapy to treat Doberman Pinschers with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). In early results, his research team has found that allogenic bone marrow stromal cells (MSCs) appear to provide an effective treatment for DCM. Treated dogs demonstrated improvement in activity, attitude and/or cardiac parameters.
Dr. Vulliet will join us in Fitchburg this year to give a presentation titled *STEM CELL THERAPY IN DOBERMAN PINSCHERS: PROMISES BEING DELIVERED*. This talk will take place on MONDAY October 3 from 1:00 to 1:45 pm before the General Meeting, in the same room as the General Meeting.
