Join us for an evening of database discussion!! In conjunction with the June Database exhibition at Little Berlin, participating artists George Purkins and Dennis Towers will be talking about their projects and answering questions.
George Purkins is a software developer at Thomas Jefferson University. He created a database of Nintendo Entertainment System game code using Python and visualized it with Processing. (Python and Processing are languages in this context). He will be presenting his process and plans for future development of this project.
Dennis Towers is a data modeller for large companies across the nation, and he will be talking about how he uses the computer to create data models for informational systems used on a variety of levels, and how it informs his artistic practice and the importance of database aesthetics.
