UNDP-UNEP-DESA "Africa Regional Dialogue on the Green Economy in the Context of Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development" - 14 May, Dakar, Senegal. Live webcasts at ~9:30-11:00, ~11:15-12:30, ~14:00-15:50, and ~15:45 -17:00, all Dakar-time. This event is designed to offer African countries a space for sharing experiences and knowledge about how they are creating their own approaches and shaping national agendas with regard to the concept of a green economy and its implementation. It seeks to enhance the state of knowledge and awareness about different policy options and initiatives that promote inclusive growth, employment, income and other dimensions of human well-being while optimizing country endowments of natural resources and positioning them for prosperity in a resource constrained world. Discussions will be used to inform Rio+20 debates including the Africa Day, and to help identify areas where additional support is required at the country level post-Rio +20. The event will include a series of moderated panel discussions with speakers from Member States and major stakeholder groups.
