Renowned conductor David Zinman makes his Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment debut at this concert which starts in style with Mendelssohn's evocative music to Shakespeare’s play. Weber's famous Clarinet Concerto which follows here features the orchestra's Principal Clarinet, with Weber's music being a fantastic showcase of the beautiful tones of a period clarinet. Beethoven’s symphony 7, full of the spirit of the French Revolution, closes the evening.
