The AYF 2010 will be held in Entebbe, Uganda between 17-19 July 2010, on the eve of the 15th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU). An estimated 124 youth delegates, aged 16 – 29 years from all 53 countries of the African Union are expected to attend the Forum.
Recommendations from the Forum will be presented by selected youth delegates at the following 15th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU). Through this inaugural Forum, the voices and opinions of African youth will be heard, not only by their peers, but by African decision makers as well.
The theme for this inaugural forum is “Maternal and Child Health: African Youth Call for Action”. AYF 2010 intends to share young peoples’ views and concerns in line with this theme; youth will engage in dialogue about the progress their communities have made—and about the challenges they still face.
