Ustream released the new iOS app on August 27th with plenty of new updates and features. Let’s see what’s really under the hood.
The new iOS app has a modern design with reinterpreted surfaces and features, making content discovery seamless and engaging more viewers on both the larger format iPad screen and on iPhone.
The app also allows users to upload videos they have recorded on the built-in iPhone camera app and easily create, edit and delete videos, channels and events inside the application. Live streaming capability has also been enhanced, allowing high-quality 16:9 format broadcasting directly from the phone. Users now have the freedom to upload their own pictures and connect their Facebook and Twitter accounts with the application. By expanding the use-cases to encompass capturing short clips intended for on-demand consumption, the Ustream platform is now even more suitable for applications like knowledge sharing and informal training.

When Steve Jobs talks there is almost a religious feel to his words – people listen and are mesmerized. Whatever Steve says is truth – whatever Steve presents is gold.
The Apple WWDC is extremely exclusive – reserved to those with influence and power. A mere hand full of people actually made it into the much anticipated Steve Jobs keynote thus leaving the masses in the dark.
Ustream.tv solved this.
The keynote was streamed LIVE to nearly three hundred thousand people total and nearly sixty thousand at any given time. That is amazing. Those hundreds of thousands of people did not have to wait a couple hours to find out what was said, they didn’t need to sit alone in their room twiddling their thumbs – Oh no – The masses gathered on Ustream.tv and together listened LIVE to Steve Jobs unveil the 3G iPhone. In the moments leading up to it they nervously talked in the chat room and once announced cheered together. The excitement gave me chills.
We are honored to have provided this. There are so many events world wide that are just itching to be streamed. There are so many people aching to watch. It’s up to you to stream it.
