Far too often today content we come across contains an overdose of hyperbole. Be it in the form of a headline and/or the content itself, we are constantly faced with exaggerations gone wild when it comes to the world of marketing, PR and news — particularly if the word mobile is added to the mix.

Usually such lofty praise of “golden age” is reserved for the truly special and monumental type of announcements and pronouncements, right?

Introducing the new Paused Pro Subscription feature
Ok, so you got to the point where you are unsure whether you want to continue with your Pro Broadcasting plan. We understand. We can give you some space. But why start over from scratch when you realize that you do need some Ustream in your life?
On Wednesday, April 16 the Ustream development team released the Pause Subscription Feature for Pro broadcasting package users.
On Monday, April 7th, 2014 a security vulnerability was disclosed in a software library called OpenSSL. Ustream, along with most of today’s major Internet services, relies on OpenSSL to encrypt and secure web traffic and private customer data. This vulnerability (identified as CVE-2014-0160; also known as Heartbleed) allows an attacker to remotely access the memory contents of servers running a vulnerable version of OpenSSL and potentially access sensitive data, including security keys, usernames and passwords.
The name “Heartbleed” comes from the particular section of the OpenSSL codebase affected by this bug, the Transport Layer Security “heartbeat” implementation. The piece of code responsible for the “heartbeat” section of the protocol leaks (or bleeds) memory to the network when an attacker sends a carefully crafted network package. Continue reading
Pop icon Lady Gaga performed her seventh and last show on Monday, April 7th at the Roseland Ballroom, one of New York City’s historic musical landmarks, which was set to close its doors after her performance.
To mark the special occasion, the concert was streamed live online through a website called GetMoreGaga.com, thanks to Verizon Wireless. The event promoted the company’s 4G LTE network, allowing fans to watch the sold-out show from the comfort of their own home.
As many people probably don’t know, this experience was made possible using Ustream’s live video technology. Continue reading
